Ridgeway Sports and Social club news

Here is a brief summary of the activities that the Sports and Social Club committee are considering to improve the facilities for users.  Regular updates will appear here.

Driveways

The driveways are in need of maintenance and are likely to be temporarily repaired pending more extensive work to solve drainage problems on the ground.

Electricity supply to tennis and bowls pavilions

Investiagtion is ongoing to see if an electric supply can be supplied, at reasonable cost, to both the tennis and bowls pavilions.

Drainage

Investigation has found that a main land drain, running underneath the courts, is blocked and unrepairable.  Investigation is ongoing and a report and quotation for remedial work to address wider drainage problems on the grounds has been obtained.  This will be discussed at the next meeting of the Sports and Social Club in May.

Main pavilion

The windows and doors of the main pavilion will be replaced with double glazed units in the near future.

Toilets

The Sports and Social Club have provided a portaloo for use when the main hall tolets are in accessible.  The key for this is held in the tennis club pavilion.

Planning permission for a new toliet, accessible without entering the main building, has been applied for.  It is expeceted that it will be granted.

Access on match days

There will be no social functions in the main hall on Saturdays during the summer so all the sports clubs will be able to access all the facilities if needed.
