Mens A team defeated at Thorncliffe

The Mens A team went down 6-3 at Thorncliffe on the 28th.  With a changed line up the team gave a goo dperformance but couldn't change the run of defeats.   Nick Johnson and Martyn Soar won two rubbers whilst Mick Mason and Greg Majchrzak won the other.   In the first round  of matches Nick and Martyn won on a champions tie- break after sharing sets of 4-6, 6-2.  Geoff Haigh and Richard Sagar lost 6-7, 3-6 to the seconds whilst Mick and Greg won on champions tie-break after sharing sets of 2-6, 6-3.  2-1 to Ridgeway.  However the second round was won 3-0 by Thorncliffe.  This time Nick and Martyn lost on a champions tie-break to the thirds after sets of 6-1, 4-6.   Geoff and richard lost to the firsts by  2-6, 0-6  to the firsts whilst Mick and Greg pushed the seconds but lost 3-6, 6-7.  Thorncliffe now 4-2 up.  In the last round Nick and Martyn won again by 6-4, 6-1 against the seconds whilst Geoff and Richard lost to the thirds by 0-6, 0-6 and Mick and Greg to the firsts by 6-1, 6-1.
