Men's B team beaten by Hillsborough

In their final match of the six-man season the Men's "B" team came up against a strong, experienced Hillsborough team at Ridgeway and the visitors ran out comfortable winners by 9-0.  The Hillsborough club has re-formed this year and their team included a number of players who were playing for Brentwood in a higher division last season.  In a tight race at the top of the division every rubber was vital to their push for promotion and they gave a ruthless display to take maximum rubbers and sets.

Ridgeway's team included Andrew Goodwin making his debut for the club.  He partnered team captain Alan Firth and they lost 2-6, 1-6 to the firsts, by 1-6, 1-6 to the seconds and by 2-6, 2-6 to the thirds.  Jamie Shaw and Philip Blackburn lost to the firsts by 2-6, 1-6, to the seconds by 0-6, 0-6 and to the thirds by 1-6, 2-6.  Mick Walker and Fred Cameron lost to the firsts by 0-6, 0-6, by the same score to the seconds and by 1-6, 0-6 to the thirds.

Final match score - Rubbers 0-9, Sets 0-18, Games 16-108.
