Men's "B" team earn great win

In a very tight match the men's "B" team gained a great 5-4 win over Beauchief' "F".  No fewer than 6 rubbers went to deciding tie-breaks with Rob Mitchell and John Firth winning two and losing one whilst Dave Cotterill and Danny Beevers cruelly lost all their three rubbers to the breakers. Alan and Mark Firth won each of their three rubbers in two sets.

In the first round of rubbers Alan and Mark beat the firsts by 7-5, 7-5, Rob and John beat the seconds on a tie-break after sets of 3-6, 6-3 whilst Dave and Danny lost to the thirds after sets of 2-6, 6-3.  First round score 2-1 to Ridgeway!

In the second round Alan and John beat the seconds by 6-2, 6-1 whilst Rob and John beat the thirds on a tie-break after sets of 6-4, 1-6.  Dave and Danny lost to the firsts on the breaker after sets of 6-4, 1-6. Match score at 4-2. in the third round Aalan and mark clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 victory against the thirds whilst Rob and John lost against the first on the breaker after sets of 7-5, 6-7 and Dave and Danny lost on the breaker against the seconds after sets of 6-1, 3-6.

Final match score was: Rubbers 5-4, Sets 12-6, Games 93-78
