"B" team in convincing win

The Men's "B" team had a good win against Brentwood at Ridgeway on Saturday. Alan and Mark Firth took all three rubbers whilst Dave Cotterill and Danny Beevers took two as did John Firth and Jamie Shaw.

In the first round of rubbers Alan and Mark edged a tight rubber, winning on the champions tie-nreak after sets of 6-1, 3-6.  Dave and Danny, also ina close game beat the seconds by 7-5, 6-4 and John and Jamie beat the thirds by 6-3, 6-3.   A great start - 3-0 up.  In the second round Alan and Mark beat the seconds by 6-3, 6-4.  Dave and Danny beat the thirds by 6-3, 7-5 but John and Jamie lost in this round to the firsts by 3-6, 2-6 but it was match won with the rubbers at 5-1.  The win was made even better as the team took two of the final three rubbers. Alan and Mark beating the thirds by 6-1, 6-3, John and Jamie beating the seconds by 6-1, 6-0 but Dave and Danny lost to the firsts by 3-6, 0-6.

Final match score:  Rubbers 7-2,  Sets 13-5,  Games 92-66.
